Wine Guide
The Adam C. Plackett
Guide To Cheap Wine is a two page guide to the best value wines on the LCBO general
listing as of December 7, 2007. The guide is issued annually in
November/December. The information
provided by wine is
producer; year; grape; country; sugar level; price and rating.
Rating
sources may vary year to year. This
year, numerical ratings out of 100 are from Wine
Access magazine (WA); Natalie
MacLean, a well-known Ottawa based writer on wine and food (NM); and Wine
Spectator (WS). Star ratings are
from Vines Magazine and ACP is a
wild card from me. The table below
is an approximate comparison of points and star ratings:

The guide is designed for the individual who enjoys good
wines at reasonable prices but doesn't want to mount a major research project just to find a decent
bottle for dinner. All wines listed in the guide could be found in an LCBO
store as of December 7.
