Wine Tours & Travel:
Finger Lakes, New York State

The New York Wine and Grape Foundation is a good starting point for research
into New York State's four wine regions. Follow the site's Wine Country link to learn more.
The Finger Lakes region is a great weekend excursion from Toronto. If you have a
particular county or town in mind, the Finger
Lakes site has a useful drill-down query feature.
Cayuga, Keuka and
Seneca lakes all have wine trails
- a group of wineries which have banded together for marketing
purposes.
I particularly recommend the
Keuka Lake Wine Trail. Their site has details on the wineries around
the lake, trail events, restaurants, accommodation etc. The Yates County
site also has useful information. Hammondsport, at the south end of Keuka lake, is
a great place to stay and/or dine out. If you don't want to drive, check
out Quality
Winery Tours who have three tours to choose from.
Be
sure to check out the Finger
Lakes Wine Festival in July where you can enjoy one-stop tasting and
shopping of over 500 wines.
