Patron's Pick Restaurant Guide

I strongly recommend acquiring the latest edition of Patron's Pick Toronto if dining out is part of your lifestyle.  List price is $17.07 and you should be able to find it at most bookstores.  See below for their top ten restaurants in the 2006 edition.

Additional Restaurant Sources

In addition to Patron's Pick, another guide worth acquiring is the NOW city guide - "the urban adventurer's ultimate field guide".  Organized by neighbourhood, it describes itself as "an invaluable handbook on the best places to eat, dance, party, shop and generally have fun in the city."

The 50 Best Restaurants site selected its top restaurants using five criteria.  Links are provided to the restaurant's web site where applicable.

The restaurant section of Toronto Life allows you to search over 400 restaurants  by name, neighbourhood cuisine, or price range.

Another option is the restaurant section of Toronto.com which allows you to search by name, cuisine or neighbourhood.

Finally, Show Me Toronto has detailed information on restaurants, entertainment etc. organized by neighbourhood. 

Bring Your Own Wine Program (BYOW)

The LCBO now allows you to bring your own wine to a restaurant providing that they have signed onto the program.  Note that you will be charged a corkage fee which could be as much as $60.  See attached LCBO brochure for details.  Bringmywine.ca has a listing of participating restaurants for Toronto and the rest of Ontario.
